JPG Metadata Remover

JPG photos can carry precise location, camera and lens details, timestamps, creator fields, editing history, comments, and provenance records. AI MetaClean removes supported metadata segments while copying the original compressed image scan data unchanged.

What happens locally

A focused cleaner, not a black box.

01

Photo fields removed

Supported EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, JPEG comments, and C2PA/JUMBF containers are left out of the clean copy.

02

Compressed pixels copied

The JPEG scan data is not decoded and exported again, so cleaning introduces no additional generation loss.

03

Display data protected

ICC profiles remain, and a minimal EXIF orientation field is retained only when it is needed to keep the photo upright.

Important limit

JPEG APP11 is used by standards other than C2PA. This version removes only APP11 data it can identify as a supported C2PA series; it does not claim to understand every proprietary JPEG extension.

Questions & boundaries

Know exactly what the clean copy means.

File formats are messy. These answers describe the supported behavior of this version—not a promise that every trace everywhere has disappeared.

01Does removing JPG metadata change image quality?

No new quality loss is introduced because the compressed JPEG image scan is copied, not recompressed.

02Will GPS and camera details be removed?

Supported EXIF GPS, device, lens, serial, date, author, and related fields are removed with the EXIF container.

03Why can a tiny EXIF block remain?

A minimal orientation value may be kept when removing it would make the photo display rotated in common apps. It contains no location, camera identity, date, or author data.
