Strip EXIF, GPS, camera details, C2PA credentials, and AI workflow text from images—right inside your browser.
Current version: JPG, PNG, and WebP images. Keep your original—cleaning is intentionally one-way for the downloaded copy.
Most “online” cleaners upload the original before they can remove anything. That is an awkward privacy trade: the unclean file, complete with the data you want gone, has already left your device.
AI MetaClean uses browser APIs to read and rebuild supported image containers locally. Once this page has loaded, the cleaning operation does not need an upload endpoint, account, queue, or cloud model.
Privacy metadata and image content are not the same thing. We target supported metadata blocks and keep the encoded image stream.
That is why every format gets its own parser instead of a generic re-export.

Explore WebP cleaningSome generators and workflows save prompts, model names, generation parameters, software fields, or complete workflow JSON inside an image. Those file-level records may be removable. Pixel-embedded signals are different.

“Clean” has limits. Here is what this browser-based metadata remover does, what it preserves, and what you should still check.
Try the cleanerIt depends on where the processing happens. AI MetaClean runs the cleaner in your browser, so the image itself is not uploaded to our server or a third-party API. The website host can still receive ordinary page-request data, but it never receives the file you choose.
Not here. For supported JPG, PNG, and WebP files, AI MetaClean removes metadata containers without decoding and re-encoding the image. The compressed pixels are copied as-is, so there is no new quality loss, resizing, or resolution change.
The current version removes supported EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, comments, timestamps, PNG text, AI prompt or workflow text, and supported C2PA Content Credentials containers. Exact fields vary by format and by the app that created the file.
Yes. You can select or drop up to 20 JPG, PNG, or WebP images in one batch. Each file is processed independently on your device and becomes a separate cleaned download.
No. Google SynthID is embedded in the media content rather than stored as ordinary file metadata. Visible watermarks and pixel-level signals are also outside this tool. AI MetaClean only removes supported file-level metadata.
Yes. Removing GPS prevents coordinates from travelling inside the cleaned file, but the picture itself may show a house number, street sign, landmark, reflection, or other location clue. Metadata cleanup is one privacy step, not complete anonymization.
AI MetaClean deliberately preserves ICC and standard color information. For JPEG photos, it also keeps a minimal orientation value when that is needed for correct display. Always keep your original and inspect the cleaned copy before an important upload.
Read the cleaning report, then verify the final downloaded file with an independent inspector such as ExifTool. Check for the specific data you care about—GPS coordinates, author name, camera serial, prompt text—not merely whether any technical field remains.
