Read-only PDF verification

PDF Metadata Checker

Verify a PDF before sharing it or recheck a cleaned download. The checker reads supported PDF metadata structures in the current browser tab, reports whether removable metadata remains, and never uploads or rewrites the file.

What happens locally

A readable report, not a black box.

01

A clear clean-or-not result

The report states whether supported PDF metadata remains and shows the number of detected metadata blocks and readable fields.

02

Read-only verification

The checker parses the selected PDF but does not save, rewrite, sign, or otherwise change the original file.

03

Details you can review

Review supported document properties, page count, digital-signature presence, XMP-related findings, and other readable metadata values.

Important limit

A clean result covers the PDF metadata structures supported by this version. It does not prove that page text, hidden layers, attachments, comments, form values, previously redacted content, or external platform records are private.

Questions & boundaries

Know exactly what the report means.

File formats are messy. These answers describe the supported behavior of this version—not a promise that every trace everywhere has disappeared.

01How do I verify a cleaned PDF?

Download the cleaned PDF, open this checker, and select that downloaded copy. A clean result means the current scan found no supported removable PDF metadata blocks or readable metadata fields.

02Does verification modify the PDF?

No. Verification is read-only. The selected PDF is parsed locally and is not rewritten, uploaded, or replaced.

03What does a clean result guarantee?

It confirms that this version did not find its supported metadata structures. It is not a forensic guarantee and does not inspect page content for confidential text or incomplete redaction.

04Can the checker inspect password-protected PDFs?

No. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are rejected because their structures cannot be safely inspected without decryption.
